Navigating conferences and building professional networks are important aspects of being doctoral and emerging researchers, yet they can feel overwhelming, particularly for those new to academia. Alongside the practical challenges of presenting and networking, doctoral and emerging researchers often experience uncertainty.

This interactive webinar brings together lived experience and scholarly insight to explore how doctoral and emerging researchers can navigate conferences as spaces for learning and connection. A panel of three researchers at the beginning, middle and end of their doctoral journey, will share reflections on attending their first conferences, building networks, finding their voice and developing confidence over time.

We will explore practical strategies for preparing for starting conversations, building connections and sustaining networks beyond the event.
