The World Education Research Association (WERA) is delighted to announce that the Asia-Pacific Association for Teacher Education (APATE) has joined its international network as an Association Member. The WERA Council unanimously approved APATE’s membership during the Council meeting on 31 October 2025 in João Pessoa, Brazil, held alongside the 42nd ANPEd Conference and WERA Focal Meeting.
With APATE on board, WERA’s network of Association Members reaches 28, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to fostering cross-national collaboration in educational research and reflecting a worldwide community with engagement and representation in the Global South, the East, and the Global North.
WERA extends a warm welcome to APATE and looks forward to their active contribution in promoting high-quality educational research around the globe. This new membership highlights WERA’s continued expansion and reinforces its role as a platform for international scholarly exchange in education.
