Membership Types

The World Education Research Association (WERA) provides governing and affiliate forms of memberships to the public. Governing memberships are open to associations, while affiliate memberships are extended to institutions and individuals.

WERA is an association of major national, regional, and international specialty research associations dedicated to advancing education research through an international lens. WERA undertakes initiatives that are global in nature and thus transcend what any one association can accomplish in its own country, region, or area of specialization. Each member association in good standing shall appoint one representative to the Council and have one vote in Council deliberations and elections.

Institutional Membership includes non-profit research centers and institutions, higher education institutions, and other research organizations that foster and support education research or are committed to the production or utilization of sound knowledge related to education are eligible for institutional affiliate membership status.

Individual scientists, scholars, students, and other professionals engaged in or committed to education research with a world-wide perspective are eligible for individual membership status in WERA. This type of membership provide opportunities for exchange of information, communication, and collaborations otherwise not readily available across continents and hemispheres.
