Use of digital devices in all aspects of our daily lives is growing all the time. Many children born this century will never know a society that isn’t dominated by digital technology!
Digital literacy is becoming more and more important, but how are we ensuring that young people’s skills in this area are developing in the way they will need to participate safely in a highly digital world?
ICILS is the only international large-scale assessment that focuses solely on digital literacy education. It directly measures and reports on fundamental digital competencies for participation in the digital world. The study measures student achievement in Computer and Information Literacy (CIL) and Computational Thinking (CT).
ICILS also collects extensive targeted data relating to the contextual factors associated with students’ digital literacy learning in and outside of school. ICILS supports countries to make informed decisions about how best to prepare students for life in an age of constantly evolving digital technologies.
The Launch of the ICILS 2023 International Report and Results will take place on Tuesday, 12 November from 10:00am Central European Time.
The livestreamed event will present results and key findings from IEA’s ICILS 2023 International Report.
Hosted in partnership with IEA and Aarhus University in Copenhagen, the launch event will highlight new data collected from ICILS 2023 that are relevant for policy and practice. The event will be livestreamed, and all are welcome to attend. We also look forward to hearing remarks from the European Commission on the day of the release.
